Established since 1980, we have built a stellar reputation for auctioning everything from antiques, vehicles, collectables, vintage and modern items to general household goods.
Sellers have dedicated areas for delivery of their goods, a streamlined consignment process, and our buyers can see and inspect your items clearly in our open, spacious emporium.
We conduct weekly online auctions. This keeps buyers engaged, and ensures a fast turnaround for sellers. Being the only auction house in the Launceston CBD, we also see a lot of ‘walk in’ buyers between auctions.
We can assist with the selling of your obsolete / discontinued / liquidation stock. Are you closing or require an onsite auction – contact us!
Sales can be through our weekly Wednesday online auction, or alternatively, a specialty auction. We will assist in the entire process from site visit, scheduling, assessing, cataloguing, photographing, marketing, payments, and collection. It can be a daunting task, but we are here to help!
Weekly auctions are timed. They work in much the same way as live auctions did, though now buyers can bid from home! Once the auction commences, the online bidding system manages the sale of each lot in number order, commencing final countdown at 7.30pm every Wednesday.
Each lot opens with the highest bid that has been placed during the pre-auction period and a countdown starts. Bidders have the option of bidding “live” in the final moments of each lot. If a live bid is recorded, the lot countdown starts again and this repeats until all bidders are silent - then the highest bidder has won the lot.
You can sell art, antiques, historically important items, mid-century & vintage items, collectables, stamps, coins and notes, jewellery, watches, gemstones, rugs, garden ornaments, quality home wares, alcohol, vehicles, tools and much more!
The best way to ensure we can sell your item and get the best price available is to email photos to [email protected]. Alternatively call us on (03) 6331 5200 to discuss the items you wish to auction.
Please Note: If your item has a back-stamp, hallmark, or signature, or any damage or faults, please ensure that you inform us of this for an accurate assessment.
You can sell any vehicle with us – Motorbikes, Cars, Motor Homes, Caravans, Trucks, Trailers, Trikes, Farm Equipment, Forklifts, Bulldozers to Excavators!

When selling with Tullochs, there is a seller’s premium of 21.45% (including GST) on every piece. This commission covers our costs in handling of your products from start to end, including valuations, cataloguing, photographing and receiving payment. All auction houses charge a premium - It helps keep our doors open.
This premium may be negotiated in some cases.
Our team has a plethora of different experiences and specialties, and we keep a close eye on the second-hand and auction market from around the world. We use our own auctions as a guide too. Using this experience, we will set a price estimate based on current market values and desirability.
You can set a reserve on your items in consultation with our valuers. This reserve will be the minimum price the item will be sold for.
Reserves will hold for one auction to ensure something isn’t snapped up too cheaply.
If there is no interest at the reserve price the Auctioneer, at his discretion, will remove or lower the reserve at the next auction to promote the sale.
The Tasmanian Property Agent’s code of conduct is clear that as auctioneers we must always act in the customer’s best interest, which is a value we take very seriously. Our sales, estimates & reserves are set with your best interests in mind.
Upon receipt of your goods, you will be issued with a consignment agreement docket, which you sign. This docket contains your personal details and brief description of what you dropped off, along with commission rate. If possible, bring your bank details with you, so there are no delays with your payment. This docket will also detail whether items are to have reserves, or can be assessed in-house by our valuer.
Our team will then research and value your items, before allocating numbers and processing these details into our auction system. You will then be emailed a consignment report to check. Please check this report thoroughly, and if you disagree with any values, reserves, or descriptions of items, please call or email us and we will get the listing updated immediately after discussion.
Items are then photographed and placed on display in our emporium for inspection in the days prior to auction. This allows buyers to bid with the confidence of having seen and inspected the goods!
That’s it - they are in our next online auction!
All sales are subject to our Terms and Conditions
For sellers that are not within our region, you may post your goods to us via your choice of postal/courier service. Please ensure your name and return address are on the parcel. *We do not accept liability for goods damaged during transit, so please ensure that you pack to the best of your ability.
We email the consignment reports for the sole purpose of ensuring that each seller is satisfied with the information being published. It is up to you, as the seller to check this report and if there any changes you MUST Contact Us as soon as possible. Remember, your items are already in a live auction!
If changes are around valuations, please understand that our team has many years of experience, both professionally and personally along with excellent research skills, so the valuations placed on items is fair market value. Though, it is not unusual for items to sell in excess of top estimates!
A new catalogue is uploaded every Thursday - it’s a ‘living catalogue’, which means we continually add lots until it is completed, usually every Saturday.
Specialty auctions can be uploaded anytime throughout the year!
At our emporium on George Street. Tuesday and Wednesday, from 9am-4.30pm are our dedicated viewing days for the entire auction catalogue each week.
But, once an auction lot goes online with photographs, it is viewable! So really, buyers can inspect items at any time, with our showroom open to the public Tuesday to Friday 9am-4.30pm and Saturdays 9am-2pm.
Yes, any items that have gone through the auction system and not reached reserve, can be purchased though our emporium.
Buyers can purchase your items outright at either the reserve price or starting bid price (if there is no reserve).
In the event that your goods do not sell after multiple auctions or via ‘walk-in’ sales, you are required to come and collect the items. Please monitor your items that are up for auction, and keep us informed of your instructions – If you wish to collect after one auction, lower a reserve for the next auction, etc. Goods held on site after multiple auctions and not collected will attract a storage fee.
Reserves will hold for one auction to ensure something isn’t snapped up too cheaply.
If there is no interest at the reserve price the Auctioneer, at his discretion, will remove or lower the reserve at the next auction to promote the sale.
